The True Face of the ‘Messiah of the Second Coming’
The translation of this chapter from the Japanese has not yet been re-done. About half of the content is missing. All the photos from the book, and some additional ones, are here. Some information has been added. The Japanese can be found here.
The Contradiction Between Principles and Practice
My memoir is a record of what really happened 174
I met Mr. Moon in the Heungnam prison and lived with him for one and a half years there. We were released after the breakout of the Korean War. Mr. Moon and I fled south for two months. After that I stayed in Kyongju and Mr. Moon was in Busan. After our reunion, Mr. Moon preached his doctrine of creation, the story of the fall of mankind, and the Second Coming of the Messiah. Under the name of ‘true parents,’ the Unification Church has now branched out into more than 120 countries around the world.
He made 11 women pregnant who gave birth to children, all under the name of the ‘marriage supper of the lamb.’ Mr. Moon wants to make his eldest son his successor. Mr. Moon has been written about by many world scholars. There are many books proclaiming him to be a great man.
I have read such books, but they do not explain how Mr. Moon has accomplished his aims. These books are all superficial. I don’t want to criticize the contents of those books. I just want to state the truth that I have experienced, and the things that I know about Mr. Moon. I wrote down the doctrines that Mr. Moon taught me in Busan. I have my original notes. I wrote them in pencil. Jung Sun-ok had kept them in Daegu, later Park Ae-ja returned my notes to me. I have the notebook.
The clever Eu Hyo-won wrote the Divine Principle book. This book was the means that enabled the Unification Church to spread throughout the world. I cannot quote all the contents. I had to summarize it.
Unsuspecting followers who do not know anything 176
I am going to point out some contradictory things in this explanation of Mr. Moon’s teachings.
Each country has its own mythological story of its origins. Korea has the Tangun myth. Japan and China have their own mythological stories.
Sun Myung Moon, who I had followed, insists that he is the messiah. Many books about Mr. Moon say that he is the savior. Mr. Moon has claimed that he came to the world to save it through unification. However, his doctrines and assertions are far away from reality. He is a totally different person from Jesus who was crucified 2,000 years ago. Mr. Moon has a lot of supporters around the world who respect him and believe in him as the savior.
However, the lives of believers have not improved as Mr. Moon promised. Most believers are now living a worse life. Some of them had to face a miserable time at the end of their lives. I have been suspicious about that for a long time. Most publications about to the Unification Church have only shown a superficial aspect of its reality. We need to look at how well Mr. Moon has lived the life of a true messiah.
That shameless Mr. Moon has made a lot of victims, and his heinous behavior is still continuing. I had no choice but to write this book to let people know the truth.
Innocent believers around the world still believe that Mr. Moon is a ‘true father’ and his wife is a ‘true mother.’ I was also one of those who believed that Mr. Moon could save this world. If Mr. Moon is not the real messiah, and the truth is written in the Book of Revelations of St. John, what will happen to us?
Why did two of his sons die in car accidents if Mr. Moon and Han Hak-ja are the real ‘true parents’? As I said, Mr. Moon has 11 children by way of the so-called the lamb feast. One of his children who was born with a different mother, and was given up for adoption, also died. How can Mr. Moon explain that as a ‘true father’? In Revelation, 21-4 it is written, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
How come our world is still the same, even though the date of the liberation of our world is predicted? Mr. Moon and Han Hak-ja insist that they became ‘true parents’ through the pikareum return ritual. Then why did their children die? Some of their children have done bad things and caused a variety of scandals. I want to tell you what Mr. Moon has done using the theory of the original sin. Mr. Moon’s fate must be decided by God. I just wanted to write about how Mr. Moon has lived up to now while his practicing doctrines.
How can Sun Myung Moon be the messiah? 179
Let’s review Mr. Moon doctrines again.
Teaching about Creation: God created the heavens and the earth and he created man by breathing the breath of life into his nostrils. God named him Adam, and he put the man in a garden in the east. Then God made woman from the rib of the man while he was sleeping. He named her Eve, and God let them rule the earth. They may eat any fruit in the garden, but God commanded that they must not eat the fruit that was in the middle of the garden. God warned them they would die if they ate the forbidden fruit.
Doctrine of the Fall of Man: When Eve became mature, God wanted to live in Adam and have sex with Eve as husband and wife. In this way sinless offspring could be brought forth and could prosper. The Archangel Lucifer knew God’s intention, so he seduced the immature Eve and had sex with her. After that Eve had sex with Adam, and the corrupted blood line of Satanic Lucifer began to spread.
Restoration Doctrine: In this way, the sexual intercourse of Eve with Lucifer corrupted humankind. After Eve and Adam ate the forbidden fruit, they had to hide their bodies with fig leaves, because of their feelings of shame.
The fig leaf story means that they had sex together. It is natural for people to hide any scar or injury and this story reveals the sin that they committed at that time. Now we have a problem to solve. How can we return to the state before the fall of Adam and Eve. God gave Eve pain in childbearing and gave Adam painful hard work. After that, Adam and Eve had two sons who became the forbears of humankind. Then Cain killed his younger brother, Abel. It became the first murder in the Garden of Eden.
How can we return to a sinless world? Mr. Moon had overcome a lot of difficulties to practice the pikareum return. His theory and practice are as follows. Since Lucifer took the virginity of Eve, the pikareum ritual must be done to clean the sin. To do this, a pure man, like God, must come to have sex with a woman, who represents Eve. Since Lucifer was on top of Eve when they had sex, it is normal in Satan’s world. Therefore, the sex for the pikareum return must be done in a position that the woman is on top. And Mr. Moon has had sex in this position so far.
In his doctrine, Mr. Moon is the person who is equal to God and so is qualified to practice the pikareum return ritual. Considering Mr. Moon was born in a normal family, it is difficult to understood what he is saying. We have to think about it. While I was in prison with Mr. Moon for one and a half years, we spent a lot of time talking together. Mr. Moon told me that Jesus appeared in a dream he had on the night before Easter when he was 16 years old. Jesus told Mr. Moon to save the world, which he was unable to accomplish because of his crucifixion. Mr. Moon said that he was reluctant to accept the mission, but he did accept it.
The request from God was to practice the pikareum return, that is, to have sex with women. Maybe Mr. Moon knows the truth about it. We know many people experienced Jesus in their dreams. Jesus never asked them to have sex with women.
A strange relationship with Chong Deuk-eun 182
❖ Photo added:
▲ Chong Deuk-eun is standing in front of Sun Myung Moon in this photo taken in Busan in the summer of 1951. Kim Won-pil is on Moon’s right. Clayton Wadsworth, a US Army chaplain is on Moon’s left. Moon had worked with Chong Deuk-eun in Pyongyang in 1946, up until when she felt from God that she should separate from Moon and so moved to Mount Samgak near Seoul in February 1947. Moon had asked her to return in 40 days, but she did not. She had her own group of followers and her own set of teachings which she dictated to a follower in 1947. They were later published in a book. Moon took about 17 points of her theology: the four position foundation; the three stages of growth and her teaching about the fall and about Abraham’s failure were also the same as what later appeared in the Divine Principle. Lee Yo-han was her assistant pastor and had heard about Moon from Chong Deuk-eun in the late 1940s. In 1951 he was in Busan; he left her and joined Moon. Chong Deuk-eun visited Moon in Busan two or three times in 1951. They had loud arguments.
When Mr. Moon was arrested on July 4th, 1955, Chong asked me to come to her house. She was a strange woman, but please listen carefully to her story. I was eager to hear about Mr. Moon’s days in Pyongyang and so I stopped by her house. She was 50 at that time, and lived in a small house in Seoul. I stayed with her for a week. Then I could hear this strange story about Mr. Moon and her during Mr. Moon’s stay in Pyongyang.
Chong said that she was called by God on June 5th, 1946. She said that God told her that a young man wearing a backpack was crossing the 38th parallel and coming to Pyongyang. This man was sent by God to complete an important mission. She was told that she had to welcome him. So she hurried out to find him. She saw a young man who was dressed in shabby clothes. It was Sun Myung Moon. She guided him to her house in Mansoodae.
She explained to him about her being called by God to meet Mr. Moon. She told him that he would be equal to God if he had sex with her. They had sex in a position that she was on top of Mr. Moon. She claimed that she then became Mary. It was a fabricated story but I had to believe it at that time as Mr. Moon’s right-hand man. Of course, now I don’t understand her strange behavior at that time. I believe that they might have had sex together, and the story was made up.
When Mr. Moon was in Pyongyang, he was just a greedy young man with sexual desire. His only asset then was his sexual ability that could be used for women. If this story is true, how can Mr. Moon explain that there is nothing about her in any church publication?
The sex missionaries were of course arrested 184
Let’s continue the story of Mr. Moon’s days in Pyongyang. After that Mr. Moon moved to another house, and Chong had services in a different place because there was a lot of conflict with other women such as Ji and Ok who had also had sex with Mr. Moon. Then another problem developed. Each woman who had sex with Mr. Moon began to claim that they were the only Mary.
They claimed that Mr. Moon had given them the status of Mary after he had had sex with them. As I said before, Mr. Moon had sex with Kim Chong-hwa at her house while her husband and children were staying there. He was arrested by the police for social disorder and sentenced to five years in prison.
In all the publications by the Unification Church, Mr. Moon was innocent. Now you may understand that these stories are all false. The publications assert that Mr. Moon was envied by other existing churches, and that they reported Mr. Moon for no good reason. The real reason for his arrest was sex propagation. Mr. Moon had been seducing many women using his the sweet story of the six Marys. He had taken their bodies and their money.
Lust, Greed and Money
“Go and steal money from your husband” 187
Mr. Moon was arrested on July 4th, 1955 in Seoul but later released. The Unification Church advertizes that he was innocent and therefore released. But Mr. Moon has committed a lot of crimes. I have seen them. Thanks to our lies and false testimony, he was freed. The church has tried to hide the facts, but I know the truth.
Mr. Moon raised his age to evade military service. The sex with Kim Soon-cheol was a crime of adultery, even though Mr. Moon insisted that it was the pikareum return ritual. Mr. Moon used to say that the world was ruled by Satan, and that the wealth of individuals must be returned to him. He ordered his female believers to steal money from their husbands. In this way the ideal world could be accomplished.
Because she believed in Mr. Moon, Kim Soon-cheol kept giving money to him. One day she stole $15,000 from her husband and spent it all with Mr. Moon. Her husband became angry and began to look for them. It must have been a serious crime. However, the husbands of the victims could not tell the truth to the police because of their shame. Mr. Moon seduced many unmarried women and had sex with them, telling them that they could be one of the six Marys. Kim Myung-hee and Choi Soon-wha were also victims. The Unification Church must think about the tears and pain of Mr. Moon’s victims and the suffering of their families.
❖ Two additional photos:
Why do innocent children die? 189
I don’t understand how Mr. Moon, as the messiah, could be imprisoned for tax evasion in America. As Revelation 21:3-4 says, the duty of the messiah is written in there. Mr. Moon may assert that his imprisonment in America was anticipated as God’s will a long time ago. Another question is, how could children born by the Marriage Supper of the Lamb be killed in car accidents? [for example Heung-jin Moon] How can Mr. Moon explain all the rumors about his children? Mr. Moon has distorted the facts about the past, and is still deceiving people. He is heading down the path where there is no way back. Is Mr. Moon really the messiah? No. He is just a greedy sex-addicted man.
Sex in the name of the pikareum restoration 191
Let’s think about the issue of six Marys. Mr. Moon says that God has been angry for 6,000 years because Satan took Eve’s body. Then God sent Jesus as second Adam to save the world. But Jesus’ mother, Mary, did not have sex with Jesus because she thought of him as her son. As a consequence Jesus had to face death by crucifixion. Mr. Moon also says that Judas did not obey the will of God because he was jealous of Jesus. That is why he sold Jesus to the authorities. At that time I believed Mr. Moon’s theory of six Marys. However, Mr. Moon kept having sex with other women after he had finishing his ‘six Marys’ responsibility.
For example, the head resident of Ewha Woman’s College, Han was seduced by Mr. Moon and she became addicted to sex frenzy. I witnessed the pikareum return ritual between Mr. Moon and Han at that time. Han was then a widow with a deaf son. She was a devout Christian, but she became Mr. Moon’s sex slave. She was happy doing that, thinking that it was God’s will. When she found out that Mr. Moon had many other women, she left Mr. Moon and had an operation on her uterus because her body had become dirty because of Mr. Moon. She died a few years later, full of regret about her imprudent sex frenzy with Mr. Moon.
Who is responsible for her death? Surely it is Mr. Moon. In 1955, five professors and 14 students from Ewha College were expelled because of their relations with Mr. Moon. During the time in Busan, the ‘six Mary project’ was already completed. But Mr. Moon never stopped having sex with women. Without thinking deeply about the pikareum return ritual, many women devoted their bodies to Mr. Moon. This situation caused the rumor that after they join, people cannot get away from the Unification Church.
Many families were destroyed 193
The doctrines of Mr. Moon have changed the lives of many families. Many wives of peaceful families began to reject having sex with their husbands after they joined the church. There was also the problem of the donations that members made to the church. Most of the women finally got divorced, and their families were destroyed. Some husbands left their wives and children full of despair.
The number of families that were destroyed that I know about is more than 170. Some women who realized that it was just a crazy sex frenzy returned to their homes. How do they now feel about their past mistake? Many women have served Mr. Moon without ever knowing the truth about him.
One day I was asked a question by a male member. He asked me, was Mr. Moon’s pikareum return ritual a solemn act? I had to answer yes. But, as you know now, that was not true. Mr. Moon was like a horny dog. He was a sex addict. He was full of sexual desire.
In fact, he was very energetic. He told me that he once had sex ten times in one night. The women who were going through the pikareum return ritual often fainted during the sex. I have seen it and know it is true. Fortunately for some women, they quickly found out the reality of Mr. Moon, and returned to their homes. They could prevent any deeper damage.
Frost even in summer, the resentment of a woman 195
Mr. Moon has never supported or helped any of his women, while all the time insisting that he is the messiah. He caused social problems in Japan and America. He inspired people and made a fortune for himself. He never paid any attention to his victims. Now the number of women leaving the church is increasing. How can Mr. Moon overcome this problem in the future? He sent more than 350,000 video tapes of his teachings to pastors all over America. Can this help him solve the problem?
Even though Mr. Moon has spent millions of dollars for so-called Principle education programs all around the world, he cannot prevent the resentment of these women. He has paid a lot of money to many of the world’s renowned scholars to promote his doctrines. Many women who were used by Mr. Moon are now living miserable lives. They were mostly from rich families, but now they have to worry about each day’s food. There are hundreds of women with grudges. I want to meet and help all those victimized women, but my economic situation does not allow it.
Children who were born to virgins 196
I think I have explained about the choice of a virgin to becomes the ‘true mother’ enough. According to Mr. Moon, the lamb feast can make the ‘true parents’ who can achieve the original goal of God’s creation. Mr. Moon’s doctrine states that we can make a clean world by rooting out the original sin in our society, and we can live in a world without pain and death with our ‘true parents.’
When Mr. Moon got Kim Myung-hee pregnant, he smuggled her to Japan. After Kim gave birth to his son, she had to live in terrible poverty. Mr. Moon also got Lee Sung-wha pregnant. She, as well, gave birth to a son. She thought that she was the first Mary. After Mr. Moon deserted all these women, he married Han Hak-ja, and said that she was the ‘true mother.’ Mr. Moon and Han are now spending a lot of money on promoting themselves as the ‘true parents’ who want to create a new world.
‘The 7.4 affair’ newspaper coverage (from Dong-A Ilbo July 7, 1955)
‘The 7.4 affair’ refers to Moon’s arrest on July 4, 1955 during the Ewha Woman’s University sex scandal.

He posed as the son of God
There were many sexually abused women. The behavior of Moon, the leader of the Unification Church, continues to attract attention.
Following [the earlier July 6th report] – What is the identity of The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity which has drawn such a lot of attention to itself recently due to the arrest of its leader? Did Mr. Moon indeed sexually abuse women without their realizing it? The authorities have disclosed the two charges against him: “avoiding military service” and “unlawful imprisonment” [of a 22 year-old female Yonsei university student, Choi Soon-shil, for three days]. After comprehensive discussions and public criticism of Mr. Moon, here is some information about the religion:
◊ Indoctrination methods – New recruits have to listen to sermons about the teachings of the religion for 72 hours (for just three days). The sermons are given by Church Leader Mr. Moon. The weekly lectures on Mr Moon’s doctrines start at 10 in the morning on a Monday and run until 10 in the morning on a Thursday. If anyone doubts the teachings and wants to leave, Church Leader Mr. Moon stops them from leaving by sternly saying “If you leave, you will die.” Mr. Moon also says, “Koreans are the people chosen by God and Pyongyang is the Jerusalem of the world.” He preaches that he is the son of God, and if a woman has a sexual relationship with him, she will give birth to a world teacher.
◊ The behavior of a man who hunts women [a sexual predator] – Mr. Moon is an eloquent speaker. They say that when he finds women who truly believe in him, he entices them into his abode (a single room inside the small association building) and violates them. Four victims have been identified and these women are middle-aged (over 30 years of age) with husbands and daughters. Their families are above middle class. One of them is a Mrs. Kim Soon-chang (not her real name) who is aged 36. She was a decent well-to-do upper class housewife, but after she fell prey to Church Leader Mr. Moon’s offerings she experienced the fate of being abandoned by her husband.
◊ The financial status of the association – At present the association is renting a building. The church receives donations from its 250 members in Seoul, but they do not amount to much. So the members started [a business] taking many downtown landscape photographs. They then mass produce “bromide polyamide” prints which they sell all over the city.
◊ The situation of the organization – There are branches in Busan, Daegu and elsewhere, and the headquarters are in Seoul. Concerning the number of followers, a total of 700 attend at dawn. 250 of these have attained a grade. The level of education is to quite a high standard. Looking at the gender balance, there are about equal numbers of men and women.

어제첫公判 統一教會 事件 ( 공판통일교회사건 )
Yesterday the first trial was held in the ‘Unification Church incident’
On September 20, ‘Unification Church’ leader Moon Sun Myung (real name, Moon Yong Myung), aged 36, appeared for the first day of his trial in Seoul District Court No. 4. At the 10:30a.m. hearing the presiding judge was Yoon Hak-no ( 尹學老 ) and the prosecutor was Kang Seo-yong ( 姜瑞龍 ) who was handling the prosecution of Moon Sun Myung. [The afternoon hearing was at 2:30p.m.] On this day the court was jam-packed with many women who seemed to be ‘Unification Church’ believers.
Defendant Moon, who has been much talked about concerning multiple alleged adulteries, on the day only stood as a defendant for charges of Military Service Act violations. This is because there were no complaints from the alleged victims. Along with him, other defendants from the same church stood trial as well: Kim Won-pil (28, violated the Military Service Act, and had raised his age by six years), Eu Hyo-won (42, failed to report to military record), Eu Hyo-min (36, same charge as above), and Eu Hyo-yeong (35, same charge as above).
As soon as the court session began the prosecution read the list of indictments and then the investigation into the facts proceeded. Defendant Moon did admit that he had raised his age. The legal profession still had two arguments about whether raising one’s age, even when the person subject to the draft was over 32 or 33 years old, was a violation of the Military Service Act. Nevertheless, Prosecutor Kang, in the bill of indictment, pointed out that defendant Moon “had raised his age to avoid the draft (military service) in accordance with the Christian doctrine against injuring others or taking life”.

Religious leader Moon given two years in the ‘Unification Church incident’ prosecution.
Following earlier report: The first trial regarding the ‘Unification Church incident’ started on the 20 [September 1955]. After investigating the facts, prosecutor Kang Seo-yong ( 姜瑞龍 ), recommended the following terms for the defendants:
▲ Moon Sun Myung (religious leader) = Imprisonment for two years
▲ Eu Hyo-won = Imprisonment for two years
▲ Kim Won-pil, Eu Hyo-min and Eu Hyo-yeong
= Each person imprisonment for one year and six months
Who was the Betrayer?
A letter of introduction from Sun Myung Moon 199
Now I am going to write about the management of the economy of the church. As I said before, when I was in Seoul in 1953, I had no money to buy a ticket to Busan. After we founded the Holy Spirit Association, we started the picture business with Eu Hyo-min. As the business became established, we could move to Hongin-dong. The church began to flourish.
Then Mr. Moon and some members were arrested. After Mr. Moon was released, we bought a two story house in Cheongpa-dong and moved there.
Mr. Moon then asked me to work at the Seojin Mine. He wrote me a letter of recommendation. I spent a few years there, working as a supervisor. The mine was donated by Jung Suk-cheon and Mr. Moon was running it himself. I will write about that in more detail later. During that time, Eu Hyo-min was able to get a patent for an air gun. With the excellent quality of the product, the economic foundation of the church was established.
Vicious exploitation of labor 200
The first relative of Mr. Moon who joined the church was Mr. Moon Sung-kyun. When Mr. Moon bought a Jeep [on July 7, 1957], he was hired as a driver. The next one to join was Mr. Moon Yong-sun who worked at the porcelain factory in Asan. That was all. When I was actively working with Mr. Moon, there were no other relatives of Mr. Moon.
Now a lot of his relatives are working in the church, and it has caused a lot of ill feelings from the other members. This may contradict his doctrine. Mr. Moon told us that stealing money from the bank is a crime under the law of Satan, but it is not a crime under his doctrine. Many women stole money from their husbands for Mr. Moon. This helped to build the present Unification Church.
The economic foundation built by such members is now handled by Mr. Moon’s relatives. Most of founding members of the church have been expelled. The only ones left are Lee Soo-kyoung who is in charge of the Ilshin Company and Kim Won-pil for the Ilhwa Food Company. Kim Won-pil has been Mr. Moon’s right-hand man. It was the time when we started the air gun factory.
Some children, whose families were destroyed when their mothers joined the church, were hired by the factory. They were about 15 or 16 years old. The number of children was over 350. They were paid 500 won a month. That is a good example of a sweat shop system. The 17 year-old son of Kim Hee-ok ran away from the factory because the work was so hard. So the story about the sweat shop system in the Unification Church is true.
Mr. Moon’s sons, Heung-jin and Hyo-jin 203
Mr. Moon came to Seoul in 1983 to give speeches in seven major cities. During that time, his son, Heung-jin Moon, died in a car accident. The church explained the death as his sacrifice to protect his father. They said that the communists were trying to kill Mr. Moon because his speeches were anti-communist. His son was then appointed commander-in-chief of the spirit world.
Mr. Moon and his wife insist that they are the ‘true parents,’ but their son got killed in a car accident. How can they explain that? Hyo-jin Moon’s behavior caused big scandals and social concerns. The Moons said that Hyo-jin was reborn after he had spent 40 days in a place that Mr. Moon designated. [Drug rehabilitation] It is obvious that Mr. Moon is trying to make Hyo-jin his successor.
It is like what is happening in North Korea. How can they explain that Mr. Moon is the only messiah who can save the world? Can Hyo-jin Mr. Moon become another messiah? I was told that Hyo-jin once pushed aside pastor Lee Yo-han while he was preaching in Cheongpyeong. The event was attended by 150 church youth. Hyo-jin said that the preaching was against his father teachings. The people at the session thought that Hyo-jin was just a thug.
North Korea has become the source of a funny story because the leader there tried to pass power to his son. The same situation is happening in the Unification Church. The Unification Church has spent a lot of money to advertise Mr. Moon as the messiah. A Japanese writer wrote a book about Mr. Moon, but he must have been bribed by Mr. Moon. There is no clue about the transfer of the responsibility of the messiah. The Unification Church has justified every fact for their own aims. It is scary.
The Unification Church has written many books full of lies and contradictions. They expelled many founding members for various different reasons. I know many of them, and they had to face a miserable fate. I will write about a few of them.
The history of the Unification Church tells my story as follows. Mr. Moon had helped wounded Pak Chong-hwa to escape from the war by carrying him on a bicycle with Kim Won-pil. But Pak Chong-hwa betrayed Mr. Moon while Pak was working at the Seojin Mine. Pak left the church, so I am the betrayer. None of that is true. It was all part of a project to create a wonderful myth about Mr. Moon.
That is why I am writing this book. As I wrote in previous chapters, I gave my life for Mr. Moon. From the time when we first met in prison I believed that he was the messiah. As you have read, the only reason Mr. Moon was not imprisoned again was because of our lies and support. In the end he was the one who deserted us and called us betrayers.
The name of one of the founders now removed 207
The Unification Church is worried about me because I know every aspect of Mr. Moon. Their effort to idolize him will fail. Mr. Moon is a Casanova and womanizer. He is Satan’s man. Mr. Moon was very much afraid of the police. Whenever police came to us, he was at a loss as to what to do, and I had to deal with them. He was a weak person. Once I wondered how could he save the world with his shaky body and mind.
The founding members of the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity were Sun Myung Moon, Lee Chang-hwan, Pak Chong-hwa, Eu Hyo-won, Eu Hyo-min, and Kim Sang-chul. My name is no longer on the list. The oldest member is now known as a betrayer. The founding date was May 3rd, 1954, but they changed the date to May 1st. That is was not true.
“An incident happened. We must run away!” 209
Mr. Moon was the one who betrayed me. It was when I was working at the mine. One day Cho Dong-suk came to me and said that Mr. Moon had run away because there was an incident. He said that Mr. Moon was afraid of my being arrested because I could tell the whole truth about him. I didn’t know what to do. I asked Cho where Mr. Moon was. He answered that Mr. Moon was in a temple in Choongmoo. I decided to go there. I arrived there at midnight, but I could not go to the temple because of the curfew.
When I arrived at the temple the next day, Mr. Moon and his party had already left for Jeju-do (Cheju Island). There were only the tire tracks from his Jeep. I didn’t know where to go or what to do. I decided to go to Seoul. I tried to notify Mr. Moon that I was staying there, and I waited for his reply. He did not contact me for a whole month. I was staying in a dirty room in front of the Seoul station, living only on bread.
It was a betrayal by Sun Myung Moon 211
After a month, when Mr. Moon still had not contacted me, I began to feel a certain suspicion. I had gone to the mine on March 28th, 1956. Mr. Moon had been released from prison on October 4th 1955, the previous year. Mr. Moon had sent me some operating expense money because we had about eight miners working there. When I visited Seoul, I was introduced to two army colonels. They were Pak Bo Hi and Han Sang-kook. Mr. Moon told them that I was his right-hand man, and that they should learn many things from me.
Three years later Park Chung-hee succeeded his in his coup and appointed Kim Jong-pil as the director of the KCIA (Korean Central Intelligence Agency). Both colonels were his right-hand men. After that, Pak Bo Hi worked in America and became Mr. Moon’s new right-hand man. Both of them received the glory of being among the 36 couples. After that, the remittance from Mr. Moon stopped. Even though I kept requesting money, they didn’t send me any. Since the mine business was in deficit from the beginning, it was impossible to continue the work. So I had to stop working and I had to dismiss the miners.
Kim Deok-jin from Seoul and I, and a woman, were the only people left there. We often skipped meals because we didn’t have any money. Soon the woman left us too. Kim then left for Seoul, and so I was alone. At that time Cho Dong-suk came to me to tell me to escape. If I went, there would be no one left. I began to organise the remaining things that needed to be done. I sold a generator to make some money. The incident in Seoul was also to do with Mr. Moon’s affairs with women. While I was having a hard at the mine, the church reached out to America, and also expanded their power in Japan.
On April 11th, 1960, Mr. Moon married Han Hak-ja, again calling it the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. He then made the 36 couples. The qualification of the 36 couples was basically formed with women who had the pikareum return ritual. I was an obstacle to Mr. Moon’s abnormal method of expansion. I was being banished to the mountains. Mr. Moon continued his way of sexual adventures and greed using his contradictory doctrine.
When Mr. Moon was chased by the police, he was worried about me because I could tell the police the whole truth about him. He did not order me to escape. He did it for his own sake. He did not want me to sit with him in his new organization. I waited a long time for him, believing in our earlier promises. It was around August of 1962. I did not betray Mr. Moon, but he betrayed me.
